Last updated: June 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Bright Path Assessment and Therapy provides services and operates this website.

By using this website, making an enquiry, booking an appointment or receiving services from us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Please read them carefully.

3. Services We Provide

Our services may include:

  • dyslexia assessments;

  • speech and language therapy assessments;

  • speech and language therapy sessions;

  • consultations with parents, carers or adult clients;

  • written reports;

  • professional recommendations;

  • liaison with schools, families and other professionals where appropriate.

The exact service provided will depend on the needs of the client and what has been agreed in advance.

4. Initial Enquiries and Consultations

Initial enquiries are used to understand your concerns and consider whether Bright Path Assessment and Therapy is likely to be an appropriate service.

Advice given at enquiry stage is based only on the information available at that time.

An initial conversation or consultation does not constitute a diagnosis and does not replace a full assessment where one is required.

5. Appointments and Locations

Appointments are arranged in advance.

Services may take place at an agreed local venue, online, in an educational setting, or another suitable location, depending on the nature of the service and what has been agreed.

We will aim to provide a calm, appropriate and professional environment for assessment or therapy.

If an appointment takes place at a school, setting or third-party venue, the suitability and availability of that space may depend on the arrangements made with that setting.

6. Cancellations and Rearranging Appointments

We understand that families sometimes need to cancel or rearrange appointments.

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.

Bright Path Assessment and Therapy does not currently charge a cancellation fee. However, repeated cancellations or missed appointments may affect our ability to continue offering appointments.

7. Fees

Fees will be explained before services are agreed.

Fees may vary depending on the type of service, assessment, report, therapy session or additional work required.

We reserve the right to update our fees from time to time. Any changes will not affect services already agreed unless this has been discussed with you.

8. Payment

For dyslexia assessments or other assessment work involving a written report, payment must be made before the final report is released.

For therapy sessions, payment is normally made after each session, unless a block booking or alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance.

Where block bookings are agreed, payment terms will be confirmed separately.

Payment may be accepted by bank transfer or another agreed payment method.

9. Reports and Written Information

Where a written report is included as part of the agreed service, this will be prepared after the assessment process has been completed and any required payment has been received.

Reports are based on:

  • information provided by the client, parent or carer;

  • relevant background information;

  • standardised assessment results where used;

  • clinical or professional observations;

  • information from schools or other professionals where available and appropriate.

Reports should be read as a whole. They should not be altered, edited or reproduced in part in a way that changes their meaning.

10. Follow-Up Support

Reasonable follow-up contact, such as a brief telephone call or email clarification after an assessment or therapy session, may be included at our discretion.

Additional written information, letters, forms, extended liaison, meetings, amended documents or further professional work may incur an additional fee.

Where additional fees apply, these will be discussed with you in advance wherever possible.

11. Dyslexia Assessments

Dyslexia assessments are carried out using professional judgement, appropriate assessment tools and available background information.

The outcome of an assessment cannot be guaranteed in advance.

A diagnosis or conclusion will depend on the evidence gathered during the assessment process.

Recommendations are made in good faith and are based on the information available at the time of assessment.

12. Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and language therapy is tailored to individual needs.

Assessment and therapy recommendations are based on clinical judgement, evidence-based practice and the information available.

Progress can vary depending on a range of factors, including the nature of the difficulty, attendance, engagement, practice between sessions and wider support.

We cannot guarantee a specific outcome from therapy.

13. Client and Family Responsibilities

To help us provide a safe and effective service, clients, parents and carers are asked to:

  • provide accurate and relevant background information;

  • tell us about any medical, developmental, educational or safeguarding issues that may affect assessment or therapy;

  • attend appointments on time where possible;

  • let us know as soon as possible if an appointment needs to be rearranged;

  • complete agreed forms or questionnaires where required;

  • support agreed therapy activities or recommendations where appropriate.

14. Consent and Information Sharing

We will explain what information is needed and how it may be used.

Where information needs to be shared with schools, healthcare professionals or other third parties, consent will usually be requested.

There may be circumstances where information must be shared without consent, for example where there is a safeguarding concern or legal requirement.

15. Confidentiality

We take confidentiality seriously.

Personal, clinical and educational information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and relevant data protection legislation.

16. Safeguarding

Bright Path Assessment and Therapy has a duty to act where there are concerns about the safety or welfare of a child, young person or vulnerable adult.

Where safeguarding concerns arise, we may need to share information with appropriate agencies.

17. Professional Standards

Services are provided in accordance with current professional standards, evidence-based practice and the ethical expectations relevant to the work being undertaken.

Continuing professional development, reflective practice and appropriate professional boundaries are important parts of our service.

18. Website Information

Reports may be shared with relevant professionals, schools or agencies for the purpose for which they were prepared.

Reports and written materials must not be altered, copied for commercial use, or reproduced in a misleading way without permission.

20. Limitation of Liability

We aim to provide a high-quality, professional service.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Bright Path Assessment and Therapy is not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate, incomplete or withheld information provided by clients, parents, carers or third parties.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The latest version will be published on this website.

22. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
