Meet Heather Graham

Specialist Dyslexia Assessor • Speech & Language Therapist • Neurodiversity Advocate

I’m Heather Graham, founder of BrightPath Assessment & Therapy.

After graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy in 2011, I have spent over 14 years working within the NHS, including leading specialist clinical services.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with individuals and their families, developing a deep understanding of how language, memory, processing and cognition can affect communication, well-being and daily life.

This experience now underpins my approach to dyslexia assessment and speech & language assessment, helping me discover each child’s unique strengths, understand their challenges and provide practical support that empowers them to achieve their full potential.

A Personal and Professional Journey into Dyslexia

While my clinical background is broad and highly specialised, my passion for dyslexia assessment developed through personal experience.

I am the mother of a wonderful child with dyslexia, and dyslexia is also part of my wider family. Within our family, it has never been viewed as a limitation, but as a different and valuable way of thinking. Family members have followed diverse professional, academic, creative, entrepreneurial and practical paths, each drawing on their own individual strengths.

This experience shaped my belief that dyslexia does not need to be “fixed.” It needs to be understood, supported and valued. It inspired me to specialise in dyslexia assessment and to help children recognise their strengths while receiving the support they need.
